Decks, Repairs & Outdoor Structures We've Built

Every photo below is from a real Sexton Home Improvement & Repairs job in the McHenry area. That includes new treated lumber and composite decks, deck repairs and replacements, railings, and gazebos.

What You're Looking At

Deck Repair and Replacement, Start to Finish

Several photos follow one deck from start to finish. You can see the weathered, leaf-covered boards and rotted railing before work started, the tear-out, and the framing stripped down to the joists. Then come the new composite boards, stairs, and black cable railing. When the framing is still sound, we repair and resurface the deck instead of rebuilding it from scratch. When it isn't, we'll tell you honestly.

New Treated Lumber and Composite Decks

Our treated lumber decks are built on properly sized footings and framing, with railings anchored to code. Composite decks use the same solid framing with low-maintenance boards and picture-frame borders. See our McHenry deck builder page for more on how we design and build.

Gazebos and Outdoor Structures

A hardtop or screened gazebo turns a deck or patio into an outdoor room you can use all season. Learn more about gazebo installation and pergolas.
